Refugee children are five times more likely to be out of school than other children, and only 61 per cent of refugee children are enrolled in primary school. The numbers drop to 23 per cent when it comes to secondary school. World leaders have promised to fulfil the right that children have to an education – a cornerstone of the Sustainable Development Goals and the New York Declaration.
UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador Muzoon Almellehan speaks about her personal experience as a Syrian refugee and her commitment as a youth advocate to make education a reality for all refugee children.
