    Well, that might be a step towards wisdom.

    Far from no deal being better than a bad deal, the May Government now telling Brexiteers that no deal is not an option and that if they don’t accept what they think a “bad” deal then UK likely won’t be leaving EU at all. Simples!

    This is Eve Leadbeater. Exactly 79 years ago today she arrived in the UK on the Kindertransport - a scheme that saved 10k child refugees from Nazi Germany. On this anniversary she is in Athens with us meeting the refugees of today's crisis.

    Countries bordering the mediterranean are overwhelmed by the burden of the refugee crisis. The EU should mobilise resources and we should all do more to help.

    There are 3,400 unaccompanied refugee children in Greece, including babies. More arrive daily. The UK government says it is doing its bit to ease the crisis but it has taken just 15. Our government must do better.
