    It's normal to have highs and lows in relationships. No one feels happy and head-over-heels in love all the time. Just because the initial euphoria has faded that doesn't mean the relationship is doomed.

    When we have a harmonic relationship with ourselves, we no longer look to other people to fill holes in our self-esteem. We need people but we aren't emotionally needy. There's a big difference between the two.

    With art comes empathy. It allows us 2 look through someone else’s eyes & know their strivings & struggles. It expands the moral imagination & makes it impossible 2 accept the dehumanization of others. Without art, we are a diminished people-myopic, unlearned & cruel. DaveEggers
