    yes. crossing the border without documentation is illegal. being black without a white owner was illegal. walking into a whites only restaurant was illegal. in germany, being a jewish person was illegal. without ethics, laws are just the stories we tell to justify horror.

    Now working with families and young kids I find myself using the same strategies I teach my families on myself including celebrating attempts and small successes, always praising what we CAN do, & constantly saying “try again, you got this”

    This is v important. I got so used to being to smartest kid in the room so when I finally wasn’t it hit me hard & sent me spiraling. Seriously, praise children for working hard, for trying their best, for trying new things. Rephrase from “you’re so smart” to “you work so hard!”
