    (1) Lets not forget that in the 21st Century, we have almost 70 million displaced people around the world. This includes refugees who have been forced to leave their country in order to escape war, persecution, or natural disaster.

    We all have a right to have a safe home for ourselves & our family...irrespective of nationality, religion or economic status. There are currently approx. 60 mill displaced people around the world who are searching for just that... something that the rest of us take for granted.

    When & I decided to row across the Atlantic Ocean, Omar felt strongly that we do it to raise awareness for the plight of refugees. Of course, I was happy to support the cause... but to be frank, it wasn't a cause close to my heart at the time. That has all changed.
