Very insighful article on role of CHVs in promoting healthcare in hard to reach areas of Turkana on . Use of local beads to count, CHVs tracking down children etc gives hope of reaching the unreached. Good job

    7. So if 60 tonnes of “poisonous sugar” is found in a godown in Eastleigh and others elsewhere with complete packaging set-ups with KEBS stickers, is it from sugar millers or other importers/traders and how did such large consignments get there “unnoticed?”

Survival from corruption and impunity is akin to the mythical rebirth of the eagle. HE Uhuru Kenyatta must, like the eagle, pluck out his feathers, smash off his beak, and remove his own talons because all of these have become too old and useless. He must sacrifice from within.

You know what our bail system does? It makes thieves steal larger amounts to afford the bail and still remain rich! Like murder theft of public funds should not be bailable!

Investigations have generated substantial information indicating that top officials ultimately responsible for mass atrocities in South Sudan have at the same time managed to accumulate fortunes, despite modest government salaries.

Top officials in South Sudan could not maintain the status quo without the system of international banks, businesses, arms brokers, real estate firms, and lawyers who, knowingly or unknowingly, facilitate the violent kleptocracy that South Sudan has become.

In Kenya invesrment usually means real estate not factories, research institutions, hospitals, irrigation schemes etc. That is why the majority remain poor while some become fabulously rich.

Now this is in this year's Budget: A house initially budgeted for 250m, eventually built for 400m and refurbished for 100m, will now be refurbished for 1.7 Billion shillings. Somebody kindly save us from CS Treasury and his minions at Treasury.

Stop arresting shopkeepers and truck drivers, these are poor people trying to make a living, they don’t have the capacity to do chemical analysis, they don’t control the bodies thro which sugar comes in. The importers who intentionally bring in this sugar are known, target them
