  1. Almost 3 weeks have passed since the last confirmed case in on June 6. This shows strong progress: the response is on the right track. We are not done yet, we might see more cases. We need to keep vigilant. I thank & all partners for the tireless efforts.

  3. WHO’s disease surveillance system can work even when doctors and health workers are in remote areas, using their smart phones to enter even when they are offline. The information will be updated when the device is connected to internet

  10. I met Mohammed in the asylum seeker centre in Athens today. He is from Syria. He had polio and now relies on a wheelchair. All his medical needs are taken care of by the Greek government but he dreams of going back home to be with his wife and daughters

  12. Impressive to see ’s commitment to expanding primary care centers, known as TOMYs. First centre created last year, there are now 94 and government plans to create 240. Each has a team of who do health promotion in communities and provide basic care services.

  13. Just visited the Eleonas centre for asylum seekers in Athens. Around 1500 people live here, mostly from Afghanistan, Iraq and Syria. Thanks to the generosity of the government, asylum seekers have free access to the public health system in . can be a reality.
