    . please rescind He did the worst thing anymone could to a survivor of rape. Hire the rapist then tell to not call him again? Who does that? No elected official should.

    Update: had a rapist on his staff. He accepted his resignation today after we pressured him, he didn’t fire him & then he issued this “let’s move on now” apology to the survivor. Is it really too much to ask our politicians to genuinely care about survivors?

    I’m deeply disheartened by the news of Minneapolis Police Officers shooting & killing a young black man earlier today. We’re still learning more. We know community members are hurting—this pain isn’t new. Families deserve information. We need solutions beyond a BCA investigation.

    Let me get this strait. A woman with her own small business claims a little girl selling water stressed her out so badly she "snapped." Also, owns a weed store.

    The incidents with & both happened in the Bay Area & illustrate so clearly the effects of rampant, unchecked gentrification, “redevelopment,” and white privilege on the black and brown people there.

    Say she did only pretend to call police on a little girl selling water. That isn’t better. Putting the fear of criminal penalty (or worse) into a child was this woman’s vocabulary. In a moment of anger, that was her instinct.

    B/c of your position, you have endorsed victim-shaming. deserved better. In my world, my daughter deserved better. Discrediting victims adds to their trauma & emboldens perps. Minimizing the horrors of sexual violence is dangerous.
