    Only people I know that can afford these studios are married, getting financial support from mom & dad, working second jobs or all of the above. DC is prioritizing white people already well off/well into their careers, or coming from families with strong financial networks.

    I am also making about $20/hour, paying half my monthly income to live in a group house crammed with people, paying $350/m (low for some) in student loans. Seriously/consistently patroning these businesses apparently for young, hip millennials like me means financial suicide.

    Also worth noting that aside from the shiny apartment buildings, rose gardens, and vegan restaurants: DC is doing a pretty crap job of even achieving their goal in accommodating this "creative class." (Which is a pretty naive interpretation of the state of 'millennial' life)
