    Political reflex: difficult drug problem, then call for mandatory drug treatment! Doesn't matter that not supported by evidence; has often been seriously abused; explicitly denounced by 12 UN organisations; rejected overwhelmingly by majority clinicians & researchers

    Issue in 🇦🇺 not lack of screening (80% Ab diagnosed), but need for enhanced linkage to care. Awareness campaigns, rapid POC RNA testing, and continued development of diverse models of care all needed.

    Except 🇪🇬 & 🇲🇳, countries are not screening sufficient number of patients to maintain their treatment rate. National screening campaigns are the only way to find everyone infected with

    When young people like Robbie feel like they need 2 move overseas 2 get equitable access to programs & funding that R supposed 2 B helping them address issues in their home country, U know the system is broken! C’mon NGO’s & Aid orgs- lift your game!

    Several reviews of the evidence by different authors, different countries, different methods but same conclusion: more restrictive policies don't reduce drug consumption & less restrictive policies don't increase use. But real focus should be on harm, not use

    If increased use doesn't happen then the detractors have no cogent argument left in support of continued criminalisation.

    THANK YOU for making this comment! It is incredibly ignorant & inconsiderate for organisations operating in the PNG context to not remove as many barriers as possible for people to be able to apply for programs/funding or access information!

    This issue of access to internet & other IT barriers is really significant in PNG Organisations should be thinking of ways they can help reduce this barrier If you have any examples of barriers you’ve encountered like the one below, or suggestions 4 solutions- plz post them!

    WORD. Google 'intersectionality' then try and explain how racism or class-ism won't exist, while sexism is still rampant?

    Haven't bothered to engage in re-educating men abt the importance of equality, equity for PNG women. I write about it enough, u you read it. But Imma say this: Lord help you the next time I see you clowns hanging off at some IWD, ge, we themed glitzy soirée, forum etc.
