    Political reflex: difficult drug problem, then call for mandatory drug treatment! Doesn't matter that not supported by evidence; has often been seriously abused; explicitly denounced by 12 UN organisations; rejected overwhelmingly by majority clinicians & researchers

    Issue in 🇦🇺 not lack of screening (80% Ab diagnosed), but need for enhanced linkage to care. Awareness campaigns, rapid POC RNA testing, and continued development of diverse models of care all needed.

    When young people like Robbie feel like they need 2 move overseas 2 get equitable access to programs & funding that R supposed 2 B helping them address issues in their home country, U know the system is broken! C’mon NGO’s & Aid orgs- lift your game!

    Several reviews of the evidence by different authors, different countries, different methods but same conclusion: more restrictive policies don't reduce drug consumption & less restrictive policies don't increase use. But real focus should be on harm, not use
