    THREAD (1/5): I just concluded a trip to State, where >8,000 people have fled their homes since early April. Displaced people sheltering in >30 temporary sites, many of them church compounds. Most of these locations out of my reach due to access restrictions.

    Heavy rains have caused flooding in parts of Rakhine. Many of the IDP camps are in low-lying flood-prone areas, like this camp just outside Kyaukphyu which was badly flooded yesterday
