    During the offensive to retake the city from ISIS, Mohamed’s house was hit by an airstrike killing his 17 year-old daughter and destroying most of the home. This visit was Angelina Jolie’s 61st mission – and her 5th to Iraq – with the UN Refugee Agency.

    I was not making a political statement when I chose to wear it at 14. At 33 it still isn’t a political statement. It’s a symbol of my faith. It makes me feel beautiful. It’s a part of who I am. If that scares you I’m sorry. What can I do to alleviate your fears?

    There is something inconsistent about a hijab "to hide a woman's beauty from all but her husband" and a tonne of makeup to enhance her appearance. Hijab is a political statement. It's scary being British with people who follow the genocidal Qur'an around.
