    Amazing work by an amazing organization - deeply saddened that it remains necessary... Many of those rescued are now in Canada, contributing to our strong and diverse society.

    We get requests for help from all over the world—1,200 last year from people in immediate danger. Of those, we found a route to safety for 206 queer and trans people. The majority from the , but last year we helped 57 people flee .

    A large part of what allowed intervention in Chechnya was the worldwide outrage. I want to see that same concern about the many other countries where LGBTQ people face persecution, like Indonesia, Tanzania, Turkey and too many more. —

    Rainbow Railroad has helped 450 people in dangerous situations find safety since it was founded in 2006. But we can't do it without your help. It costs about $10,000 to give someone a path to safety. So every gift gets us closer.

    Our work at includes helping these individuals locate safe houses in their home countries, providing funds to individuals in hiding, creating travel arrangements and counselling for people looking to flee their homes. —
