    What is worrying is Weeratunga,Palpita were convicted & jailed for 3 years whereas Gnanasara was 6 months; both bails were justified on same basis. The question is then will every convict with a sentence less than 3 years are allowed to roam around freely? If not why only these?

    The law needs to be allowed to take its course without interference. For Short term sentences you are allowed to gain bail pending conclusion of your appeal
