    It's IRONIC how women who went through the harmful & agonizing ritual of FGM still put their own daughters through it? Whatever their answers are, our ultimate goal (as anti-FGM advocates) is to enlighten them & prevent this from further happening to other children.

    Many traditional circumcisers have realized the harmful effects of FGM BUT have refused to stop the cut. WHY? To them, the medicalization of FGM is like robbing Peter to pay Paul (selective justice)! There's should be an outright ban on it - TRADITIONAL or MEDICALIZATION!

    Today is very important day. If today 90% of Somali men were all cut noses or fingers, it would be a national disaster!! Today 90% of Somali women's are mutilated/cut!!! Is this not painful for you to address?
