Welcome them home. Home to a land they've never seen, a family they've yet to meet. Open the door, hold out your arms to embrace them. They are coming home, to a place of refuge and they've never known. they hear.

Death is behind them. They flee. It pursues them, the dark sea surrounding on all sides. Many drown. Death is before them. These borders are shut- you cannot enter. They cannot turn back. Where then can they go?

Parents are routinely separated from their children through immigration detention in the UK. The Home Office doesn’t release stats about the numbers of parents detained. BID’s Separated Families project provides legal advice to about 170 parents per year on how to get released.

On we express solidarity with people who have been forced to flee war, natural disaster, or persecution. We have a duty to act humanely and protect the rights of refugees, rather than forcing them into overcrowded camps, detention centres and abject poverty.

It's tragic and shocking to see innocent children caged like animals at US migrant camps and to hear their cries of anguish after being forcibly separated from their parents. It's immoral and goes against fundamental human rights we must always respect, no matter the situation.

This is utterly disgusting, as well as the language used in the media to describe such blatant inhumanity. It's not merely 'troubling' but horrifying. These are children. When they say 'detainees' it is not criminals but children locked in a cage away from their family. 😡

How do we know if our prayers, fasting & charity during Ramadan were accepted? A sign of acceptance is a change in our actions, habits & behaviour post-Ramadan. All the hours spent in worship & spiritual reminders/lessons should serve as a transformational process
