    Despite only being in grade 9, St. Paul’s student Trae Tomlinson is already the fastest kid in the province. Tomlinson ran an 11.43 in the JV 100m final at the MHSAA Provincial Track & Field Championships today. Varsity boys winner Jordan Soufi from Miles Mac ran an 11.54.

    Winnipeg police estimate 18,000 fans attended Thursday's whiteout street party for Game 4 of Jets-Preds series. That doesn't include those watching at nearby bars/restaurants, or the 16,000 at the game. In total, more than 34,000 fans are estimated to have come downtown.

    Canada’s opioid crisis deepened in 2017 and Manitoba is no exception, according to new government data. Nearly 4,000 people died as a result of opioids in 2017. That’s up 34 per cent from the previous year, with an 81 per cent jump in accidental deaths involving fentanyl.

  21. Buildings like the downtown Bay seem like they have been there forever - unless you are 101. Laura Johnson grew up in what is now the downtown and she played on the grounds of the Legislature and woods along Assiniboine River while watching as the Bay was being built.
