    'Granting citizenship to those eligible' is very worrying language, apparent endorsement of the 1982 Citizenship Law which itself violates international law and Burma's treaty obligations.

    Myanmar's new UN envoy, Christine Schraner Burgener, called for “credible fact-finding measures & highlighted the readiness on the part of the United Nations and the international community to cooperate,” in this regard.

    Emergency relocations underway to those whose shelters were damaged by landslides or are at risk. So far 100 families have been relocated to a barren, hilly area cleared for a new encampment - does that really make more sense than allowing freedom of movement or urban relocation?
