World Refugee Day Concert – June 20, 2018 – Washington, DC
Join us for a special live performance by Mélat to commemorate World Refugee Day on June 20, 2018 from 6:00-7:00 pm at The Kennedy Center Millennium Stage.
An Austin, Texas native, Mélat is the eclectic soul of modern RnB. The daughter of Ethiopian refugees, Mélat’s music is crafted from her life experiences. Mélat sings of what it means to be a human being simply longing to “be”, exhibiting commanding vocals and stunning dynamics with a worldly touch.

World Refugee Day Multi-Media Exhibit and Community Event – June 20, 2018 – Skokie, Illinois
Join for Refugees at Risk: Their Plight, Our Responsibility, a community event featuring photographer Magnus Wennman’s Where the Children Sleep, a multi-media exhibition about refugee children in Europe and the Middle East, at the Illinois Holocaust Museum & Education Center. Rohingya Photo Exhibition to Commemorate World Refugee Day – June 19-22, 2018 – Washington, DC
EXODUS: The Rohingya Refugee Crisis, an exhibition featuring photos by Roger Arnold, will be displayed in the rotunda of Russell Senate Office Building to commemorate World Refugee Day. The exhibition is free and open to the public.

One Journey Festival – June 2, 2018 – Washington, DC
An all-day festival held on the front lawn of the Washington National Cathedral in the District of Columbia will connect participants through the shared languages of humanity: art, fashion, food, music & dance from the countries that today’s refugees originally called home.
Celebrities will perform with refugee chefs, musicians, and fashion designers. Learn more
