    I help refugees for multiple reasons but primarily because my family came to Canada as political refugees in the late 80s. I wouldn’t be where I am if they hadn’t reiceved the help they did.

    Born poor, I lived in public housing, received social services, played in subsidized daycare, was a sponsored immigrant, went to public school, and took out student loans. I literally would not be a public servant without public services. Happy National Public Service Week.

    After 5 yrs of casual & student contracts in the NCR and in the region, I got my indeterminate at this year. The exp through these yrs helped shape my passion about the public service and I’m extremely proud of the work we do to serve Canadians
