    Excellent storyboard on some initiatives in undertaken by . Next step is reforestation & providing sustainable energy options in order to protect nearby forests. However the teams on the ground need help.

    There's a lot of repair work to be done in the aftermath of torrential monsoon rains in Bangladesh. Who do you think is doing it? (with a bit of support from UNHCR and NGO partners). Respect -- a whole lot of respect actually. .

    EU raises renewable energy targets to a binding 32% by 2030. UK calls for 30%; no clarity how this can be achieved after . Currently ~17% of EU energy derived from renewables, UK is ~9%. A long way to go & policies to achieve targets are uncertain.

    I just watched a woman stop two women wearing hijabs in the frozen aisle and say "Excuse me, ya have a holiday, right? I don't know how to say it, but I wanted to say happy holidays!" Then the women taught her how to pronounce Eid. It's over, my day is made, the Bronx is great.

    Punishing rains in the Rohingya refugee sites today. , with partners, working in support of Bangladesh Govt, helped to move more than 20 families at high risk of landslides to safer areas; but thousands more still at risk and need to be relocated.

    As monsoon rains continue in , we look to the Government of Bangladesh & its emergency responders to evacuate where necessary to save lives in hilly sites prone to landslides & flooding. UNHCR & partners ready to play our supporting role.

    What a difference $1,350 (+ transport)can make to the & protection of a family. A new Refugee Housing Unit (RHU) installed last week in . This family’s previous shelter is on the right. Everyone deserves a dignified & safe space to live.

    The are here: a night of heavy rain & strong winds. 2 landslides in refugee sites reported yesterday, no injuries. Refugees sheltering in bamboo/plastic shelters, many areas already under water - little protection against harsh weather conditions
