    Arrivals are drastically lower across the Mediterranean. Now is the time to go beyond a crisis footing and forge a longer-term, balanced, common policy. Let's not forgot that thousands are still dying while others are in desperate straits on the routes.

    Survivors saved by the USTrenton and arrived with the "Diciotti" in Pozzallo reported that 76 migrants (15 women and 1 baby included) lost their life in the shipwreck of 12/06. Before departure they've been tortured by smugglers,women have been raped.They were exhausted.

    According to latest info the over 500 on the Italian Coast Guard ship Diciotti will eventually arrive today in Pozzallo.Among them the 40 survivors saved last week by the US Trenton. They had to wait abt 7 days to get to land.
