Le changement climatique, les conflits, les inégalités, la persistance de la pauvreté et de la famine et l'urbanisation rapide remettent en question les efforts des pays pour atteindre les objectifs de développement durable (ODD), selon un rapport de l'ONU publié mercredi à New York.
National Disaster Management Committee (NDMC) Vice Chairman Union Minister for Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement Dr. Win Myat Aye addressed the Mon State natural disaster management committee coordination meeting held in the Mon State government office meeting hall yesterday.
He said Myanmar is a country where natural disasters occur every year, and it was conducting preventive works to withstand them. Myanmar is also among the countries that are not ready to face and overcome natural disasters, said the Union Minister.

Our task this afternoon is to explore how the humanitarian system can better address the impact of extreme weather events and climate change on the most vulnerable people, including older people, women and children.
We are already engaged in a battle with extreme weather.
High Commissioner says Niger, despite its own poverty and problems, is an example to the world.

“It has security issues, economic problems and a complex neighbourhood, but it has always kept its borders open.”
A fast-changing climate, conflict, inequality, persistent pockets of poverty and hunger and rapid urbanization are challenging countries’ efforts to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), according to a UN report launched in New York today.
The Sustainable Development Goals Report 2018 found that conflict and climate change were major contributing factors leading to growing numbers of people facing hunger and forced displacement, as well as curtailing progress towards universal access to basic water and sanitation services.

Today, on World Refugee Day, the EU Regional Trust Fund in Response to the Syrian Crisis has approved new projects to support refugees and local communities in Lebanon and Jordan.
The new projects include the public schooling of refugee children in Lebanon and social assistance for vulnerable refugees and local communities affected by the Syrian crisis in Lebanon and Jordan. The new aid package brings the overall value of projects under the Trust Fund to over €1.4 billion.

Executive Summary
Los líderes de las Naciones Unidas han expresado en los últimos días su profunda preocupación por el sufrimiento de los niños migrantes y refugiados. En las últimas semanas, se estima que cerca de 2000 niños se han visto forzados a separarse de sus familias en la frontera entre Estados Unidos y México. Este miércoles, 20 de junio, se conmemora el Día Mundial de los Refugiados.
En los últimos días, varios representantes de las Naciones Unidas han indicado que los niños refugiados no deberían ser separados de sus padres.
Son 19 jornadas en junio que iniciaron hoy en Guarne y continúan esta semana en otros municipios, con actos encabezados por la directora nacional de la Unidad para las Víctimas, Yolanda Pinto Afanador.
Con talleres de educación financiera para la inversión adecuada de los recursos, la Unidad para la Atención y Reparación Integral a las Víctimas continúa desde hoy las jornadas para la entrega de la indemnización económica a 2.003 sobrevivientes del conflicto en Antioquia durante este mes.
