    Praying the rains subside today in southeastern Bangladesh. The last 4 days have been extremely challenging for the community of here. UNHCR stands firmly .

    View from the air: aerial pix taken by shelter team show how high the monsoon flood waters are rising. At risk is the main arterial road route - a lifeline - through the main Kutupalong mega site. Urgent need for more families need to be moved to safer grounds.

    The are here: a night of heavy rain & strong winds. 2 landslides in refugee sites reported yesterday, no injuries. Refugees sheltering in bamboo/plastic shelters, many areas already under water - little protection against harsh weather conditions

  18. Shelters and public facilities, including roads and access ways are being destroyed, refugees injured and, most sadly, fatalities have occurred. We are continuing to urge the authorities to identify all possible options for rescue and relocation even more urgently.

  19. The risk of harm f/m flooding and mudslides for that Govt and agencies including have worked so hard to avoid is now unfolding. Many have been relocated to safety. Safe spaces however still urgently required for thousands more.

    Angry skies and heavy rains coming. The monsoon is now fully upon us in , where thousands of are at high risk of landslides & floods in hilly settlements. We can't engineer our way out of the problem. More evacuation space needed now to save lives.
