True. EU thought it would be so easy to get many to agree in return for cash. They underestimated the troubles and agendas of those they contacted. Those have enough stress on their own and don't want more to shoulder EU's egoism.

Now that Tunisia has said no, it seems that the EU will see if it can persuade Albania to be a dumping ground for asylum seekers. What could possibly go wrong?

Isn’t it strange that the Australian media fully covers the news of US seperating kids from their families, but they’ve been censoring the same thing done by their own government for five years? Lets not forget that Australia has been shamelessly caging innocent children too.

Rather than "smashing the smugglers' business model" (as promised by Federica Mogherini) the EU has stengthened it.

“The same people who captured us in boats were also the same ones who would push us out to sea and then just wait to capture us again." A predictable consequence of the EU's support for the Libyan coastguard/militia.

"Libya’s coast guard says it rescued over 760 migrants attempting the perilous trip to Europe over the past two days alone." In other words, over 760 people have now been thrown into overcrowded and abusive detention centres.
