Working Group Description

The Community Health Task Group (CHTG) is part of, and reports to, the Health Sector Working Group (HSWG). The group was formed to respond to the need to have a focus on community health for both refugees and Jordanians (the host community). In particular there is a need to raise awareness amongst refugees on health education, their rights to access services, linkages to the available health services and for the provision of support related to health at the community level. This can be facilitated through community health volunteers (CHVs) using a variety of tools and methods available to the international humanitarian organizations, many of whom have extensive knowledge and expertise in community health approaches.
