The Basic Needs Sector seeks to address the immediate needs of persons of concern and to formulate a strategy to increase their resilience. Assistance is provided to socio-economically vulnerable households, enabling them to meet basic needs without increasing negative coping mechanisms, both year-round as well as during extraordinary circumstances. Basic assistance includes multi-purpose cash-based interventions as well as in-kind assistance of shelter, WASH and core relief items for refugees living in camps and refugees in communities where cash schemes cannot be implemented due to operational or market constraints.
