Tendances et observations sur les statistiques annuelles sur le Ghana
  • Près de 50% des personnes dans le tableau ci-dessus vivent hors camps.
  • Depuis fin 2015, la population concernée a décru de 31%. Cette réduction est le fruit des résultats obtenus lors de l’exercice d'enregistrement multi-usage ou MERE qui s'est déroulé durant la seconde moitié de l'année 2016. Le MERE a majoritairement procuré des informations sur la population ivoirienne mais aussi sur d'autres groupes. Tous sont présumés ne plus vivre au Ghana dû à leur absence aux recensements, distributions, etc. Ce groupe a donc été désactivé dans la base de données conjointe HCR-Commission des Réfugiés ghanéenne. Certains sont rentrés spontanément et d'autres on probablement choisi de continuer leur chemin vers un autre pays.
  • Les personnes relevant de la compétence du HCR qui doivent encore faire l'objet d'une vérification sont les réfugiés togolais, les réfugiés libériens exemptés, les réfugiés rwandais, ainsi que quelques réfugiés sierraléonais exemptés, représentant quelques 3,500 personnes au total. La re-vérificaiton sera conduite à la mi-2017 et sera accompagnée de la mise en place de la stratégie de solutions durables.
  • En 2016, 60 réfugiés y compris 52 ivoiriens ont été rapatriés volontairement avec l'assistance du HCR. Le HCR et ses partenaires ont aussi facilité le départ de 72 réfugiés sur un total de 97 individus en partance pour des pays de réinstallation (y compris à travers des parrainages privés).
  • Compris dans le nombre de libériens sont 360 réfugiés libériens exemptés ainsi que près de 1,000 réfugiés d'origine libérienne localement intégrés et en attente de la délivrance de nouveaux documents confirmant leur statut juridique alternatif. (Le passeport libérien a été avalisé pour comprendre un permis de séjour de quatre ans pour vivre au Ghana).

      Today, there are 25,000 Ivorian refugees hosted in Ghana, Guinea, Liberia and Togo. Since 2011, UNHCR has facilitated the voluntary return in safety and dignity of over 65,000 Ivorian refugees and and continues to do so.
