You may request a free site migration from your Envato Hosted account dashboard after signup which will transfer over the database, images, and current theme/plugin files from an existing WordPress website. Note we cannot migrate WordPress.com or non-WordPress site content, but our friendly support team can provide you with tips on how to export or backup your content to move to Envato Hosted .

Yes! When you choose a website design, your theme will be installed with the specific design, i.e. demo content, you have selected. If you start your Hosted subscription via ThemeForest instead, you will be able to select a design at checkout, or, if that option is not available for your theme, you can import your chosen design once your site has been provisioned. Each Envato Hosted account is setup with a temporary url to start, so you can stage and customize your site before you switch your domain and go live.

We handle automatic updates of WordPress. Most themes and plugins we offer include update notifications that allow you to update easily via the theme panel or Envato Market admin page. Of course, if you ever need assistance, we're here to help!

Most of the themes offered on Envato Hosted include extensive customization options such as colors, fonts, header layouts and post options in addition to advanced layout builders such as Visual Composer or similar builders. If you have questions about whether a specific change is possible, we're happy to research that for you or advise you on the best theme for your business goals and skill level.

You are free to install any theme you like on Envato Hosted. The only themes we can offer a free license and setup for are those listed on our website.

We do give you full admin control over WordPress and your themes and plugins. However, we strongly advise you not to directly edit your theme or plugin files, or you risk adverse effects to your site and void any theme support we can provide. If you will require custom development for your site, we recommend using a child theme.

You may add any domain name to your Envato Hosted account. If you haven't registered it yet and our domain register tool is not accepting your domain extension, you may register your domain at a neutral registrar such as namecheap.com and simply point your domain to Envato. Learn more about DNS

Envato Hosted is exclusively a Managed WordPress host and does not host email inboxes. Most domain registrars include free email, or you may setup email for your domain at a service such as Google's GSuite, ZOHO, or similar. Learn more about email routing from WordPress to your domain.
