    It has been said many times before, but it bears repeating: Seeking asylum is not a crime. Helping someone to access their fundamental human right to seek asylum shouldn't be.

    Helping migrants legalize their status in Hungary, by giving them money or explaining the asylum process, is now punishable by up to a year in jail

    Let’s never forget why the 1951 Refugee Covention was brought into existence in the first place. To offer protection to the Europeans fleeing persecution. Today it protects all of us. ⁠ ⁠
