Tanzania: Tree project grows hope for refugee and host communities

With more than 310,000 refugees living in Tanzania alongside host communities in heavily populated areas, the environment has come under increasing pressure as people clear land for farming and cut trees for firewood. The results could have a dramatic long-term impact on the East African country, but new initiatives are also spring up – to replant, foster tree nurseries and use sustainable practices to the benefit of all.
