Multipurpose Cash Grants

This short animation video serves as an introduction to Multipurpose Cash Grants and provides an overview of their use, advantages and implications for the different actors of the humanitarian system.
This material was produced by Oxfam, the Office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees and the Danish Refugee Council, as part of the European Commission Humanitarian Aid and Civil Protection Department’s Enhanced Response Capacity funding (2014 –15). Those agencies worked together in 2014-2015 to increase emergency preparedness and capacity to deliver Multipurpose Cash Grants and to understand the protection risks and benefits of cash-based interventions. The project aimed to strengthen organizational capacity for cash-based interventions and protection through consolidated and adapted tools, and the development of guidance and training materials.
