Rain moving northeast, followed by very strong winds.
Rain will move north-eastwards this morning, followed by gales. Most of England and Wales will be mild, brighter but still windy by afternoon, but rain will intensify further north. Northern Scotland and later Northern Ireland will be colder with showers.
Three people die and at least 20 are injured as high winds pummel most of western Europe.
As arctic conditions continue to grip North America another winter storm is bearing down on the east coast.
The Met Office says the strongest winds have passed for the UK.
