Contributions to UNHCR
Estonia is a reliable donor to UNHCR and has provided annual donations since 2008. In recent years, Estonia’s funding to UNHCR has increased substantially. In 2016, the country gave its most generous allocation of almost EUR half a million to UNHCR. In 2015, Estonia increased its unearmarked funding, so it amounted to more than one quarter of its total donations to UNHCR. Since 2008, Estonia has donated over EUR two million to UNHCR´s worldwide humanitarian operations. During the last couple of years, Estonia’s allocations to UNHCR have been earmarked for many of the world’s most conflict ridden countries and the most desperate humanitarian situations, including Syria, South Sudan, Central African Republic, Iraq and Ukraine.
