Today, on earth, one in every 113 people has been forced to flee their home because of conflict, persecution or violence. Of the world’s refugees, more than half are children – children whose short lives have been shaped by war, fear and loss.
We are witnessing the highest levels of displacement on record. In the past five years no fewer than 15 conflicts – some new, some old – have brought unspeakable tragedy and misery to millions across the world.
