Partnering with UNHCR Indonesia
In January 2018 UNHCR Indonesia will initiate a new two-year program cycle for the implementation of its Program for the Protection and Assistance of Refugees in Indonesia. UNHCR has posted on its global online Partner Portal a Call for Expression of Interest relating to the upcoming program, inviting national and international NGOs to submit a Concept Note to express interest in joining UNHCR in the implementation of a range of activities to benefit refugees in the greater Jakarta area. Interested partners can refer to the UNHCR Partner Portal (https://Partner.unhcr.org) as well as the following links for more information:
• The Call for Expression of Interest, which provides details as to the areas of implementation for the upcoming program as well as guidance on how partners can respond to the Call through the Partner Portal.
• The template for the Concept Note that will need to be submitted to UNHCR to express interest in being considered as an implementing partner.
• A Q&A document that provides answers to questions that have been raised in relation to the Call for Expression of Interest.
• A Guidance Note on the UNHCR Partner Portal.
Volunteer
Every year, around 900 UN Volunteers support UNHCR in some 70 countries. They provide critical support to UNHCR to carry out its mandate of providing protection, community services, comprehensive solutions and implementing programmes that provide life-sustaining assistance to people who have been forced to flee. In addition, UN Volunteers provide their services in areas such as refugee status determination, programme delivery and in administrative functions, information technology, logistics or communication. Contracts are usually for 6-12 months, with a maximum period of four years. Learn more about how to become a contracted United Nations Volunteer here.
UNHCR Indonesia also accepts temporary volunteers based locally in Indonesia to work on a variety of projects to support our work. Volunteering opportunities in Indonesia include teaching language classes for refugees, networking, distributing donations, and coordinating events, among other projects. Please contact insja@unhcr.org for more information on volunteering with our Indonesia office.
Internships
Internships at UNHCR Indonesia are offered on an on-going basis throughout the year, depending on the availability of meaningful assignments and the needs and capacity of offices to receive and supervise interns. There is no deadline for sending in your application form. All internships are unpaid. Send your CV and motivation letter to insja@unhcr.org.
