“My name is Rebecca Athier Mabior, I am 25 years old. I came to Uganda from South Sudan with my 2 twin children who are two and a half years old, my mother, father and grandmother after fighting in Bor, South Sudan. We left Bor on the 18th December and arrived at the Uganda border on the 30th December and then in Dzaipi transit centre on New Year’s Eve.

I was separated from my husband, Steven, during the fighting. He ran with his parents and then later a relative told me he was killed. They saw him getting shot. We had been married since 2007 and I was very sad when I found out he was dead.”
