As of 21 april 2015, 2,740 burundian asylum seekers have crossed the border and are in the territory of Uvira (97 %) and Fizi (3 %).

The number of Burundian refugees in Rwanda has now reached over 10,000 with 4,300 of them having been registered by UNHCR.
