Implementing decision No. 1-10005 of the Seimas of the Republic of Lithuania adopted on the 4th July in 1995, concerning the implementation of the Law on the Refugee Status of the Republic of Lithuania (see Parliamentary Record No. 63-1579, 1995), the Government of the Republic of Lithuania decides:
1. to oblige the Ministry of the Interior to commence processing of applications of foreigners to grant a status of refugee having entered into force 1951 Convention on the Status of Refugees and 1967 Additional Protocol on the Status of Refugees.
2. To approve a proposal of the Ministry of the Interior to grant a temporary asylum to individuals according to results of the joint Lithuanian-Danish project "Advance Implementation of the Lithuanian Refugee Law" and accommodate them in the Refugee Reception Centre and allow the Ministry of the Interior to process those individuals' applications concerning a granting of the refugee status.
3. To authorizse the Ministry of the Interior and Ministry of Social Security and Labour to continue negociations with the Regional Office of United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, International Organisation for Migration and governments of foreign countries concerning providing of further financial and technical assistance for complete implementation of the Law on the Refugee Status in the Republic of Lithuania.
