Djeca

Od ukupno 45,2 milijuna ljudi o kojima na globalnoj razini skrbi UNHCR, skoro polovicu čine djeca. UNHCR pomaže i štiti djecu koja su izbjeglice, tražitelji azila i državljanstva, kao i povratnici i interno raseljene osobe. Ova agencija za izbjeglice je posvećena zadovoljenju potreba sve djece o kojoj skrbi. Od posebnog interesa za UNHCR je dobrobit maloljetnika bez pratnje koji u Hrvatskoj traže azil ili koji su dijelom nezakonitih tokova migracija. U Republici Hrvatskoj UNHCR također podupire obrazovne aktivnosti mladih, pogotovo onih iz ratom zahvaćenih područja, te promicanje vrijednosti tolerancije i suživota.

Children

Of the 45.2 million people of concern to UNHCR, almost half are children. They include children who are refugees, asylum seekers and stateless as well as returnee and internally displaced children assisted and protected by UNHCR. The refugee agency is dedicated to addressing the needs of all children of its concern. Of special concern of UNHCR is the wellbeing of unaccompanied minors (UAMs) in Croatia seeking asylum or being part of irregular migration flows. In the Republic of Croatia, the UNHCR has been also supporting educational activities targeting youth, especially from war affected areas, and promoting values of tolerance and coexistence.
