Making a world of difference: Responding wherever needed
UNHCR has been working with the Nepalese authorities since the early 1960s, helping the government care for over 21,000 Bhutanese refugees. In 2015, we were called to support the emergency response to the 7.8 magnitude earthquake that shook the nation on 25 April. Over half a million families lost their homes and were forced to sleep out in the open. Your donations helped us deliver thousands of tarps and other essential supplies to shelter survivors from the elements and respond to basic needs.
