FREU_Logo_Sinus_RGB_into_RZ-cropped2Freudenberg, a global technology group developing leading-edge technologies in more than 30 markets, including medical and IT services, has partnered with UNHCR to support humanitarian aid for the tide of refugees fleeing to Europe. Freudenberg has encouraged their North American staff, based in Canada, the U.S. and Mexico to take part in a global initiative by making online or payroll donations directly to UNHCR and play a lead role in helping refugee families find safety and support. The Group has also earmarked funds for integration of refugees in Germany and other European countries.

”We define success as financial success plus fulfilling our corporate social responsibility”, says Dr. Mohsen Sohi, CEO of the Freudenberg Group.

IMPACT

Freudenberg’s support means help for refugees landing in Lesvos, Greece, the island landing point for up to 5,000 people daily. With Freudenberg’s and other partners’ gifts, UNHCR has winterized existing shelters and reception facilities. We have also assembled large, tent-like structures called Rub halls, which are equipped with heaters. Refugees receive warm blankets, winter clothing and footwear, as well as other basic necessities before continuing their difficult journey.
