Dan, in the Roma slum of Nanterre (France) chose the word "Sanatate" (=health). He was thinking of his sister who still lives in Romania and wanted to wish her good health. Many inhabitants of this slum have family scattered across Europe trying to find work.

This is my 3rd mural in the slum of Nanterre. It was a pleasure painting for these lovely people once again. I was invited to eat a traditional dish of chicken and olives at Senti's house, while Kristina, 11 years old, was thinking of a word to give me.

Samar chose the word "Jaffa". Jaffa, today part of Tel Aviv, is the city from which most families here in Balata come from, before being made refugees in 1948. She chose this word because she wants the young generations to know where their real homeland is.

Maryam (15 years old) chose the word "Soul" and wanted me to write it in English. She told me that the soul is the only part of a person that remains truly free. People can take her freedom away, but her soul will remain free.
