Dengue

  • American Samoa: As of 17 August 2017, there have been 182 confirmed cases, dengue serotype-2 is in circulation. Source: American Samoa Department of Health

  • Fiji: As of 4 August in 2017, there have been 2,395 cases reported since January. Majority of the cases are in the Central and Western health division. There have been six deaths. Dengue serotype-2 is in circulation. The outbreak is on a downward trend. Source: Fiji Ministry of Health & Medical Services.

  • Palau: There have been 440 cases as of 21 August 2017; including 5 deaths, dengue serotype-2 is in circulation. The outbreak id declining. Source: Palau Ministry of Health Situation update 21 Aug 2017.

  • Samoa: There has been an increase in Dengue-like illnesses including two deaths. Samples have been sent to the Institute of Environmental Science and Research Limited, New Zealand for confirmatory testing.
