Babusi Nyoni, a User Experience Designer, stopped by the UNHCR Innovation Service office in Geneva to discuss the challenges and the importance of predictive analytics in the humanitarian sector.
The UNHCR Innovation Service is currently working with Babusi on a predictive analytics engine project that focuses on data mining, statistics, modelling, and machine learning to analyse current data trends to make predictions about future population displacements.
UNHCR Innovation Service went to UNHCR's Tindouf operation in May 2017 to help document refugee-led innovation projects. In this series, we highlight staff who are working to supporting new ways of working in Algeria and the Sahrawi refugee community.
We asked our UNHCR colleagues about some of the challenges and highlights they had during 2016. From human resources, to partnerships, to ICT in emergencies, and protection - watch the videos below to get insight into the day to day lives of humanitarian workers.
