We're Shosh & Mer, a married lesbian couple living in London with our cute cat, Monkey Pup. Because Mer is from America, and Shosh is from England we've had to be long distance at some points in our relationship. Long distance relationships are so hard, whether you're a lesbian or gay couple or a hetero one. Thankfully the long distance is now over for us. However, Mer still has to go through renewing her visa after we've been married for 2 and a half years. She'll have to take a "life in the UK test" after another 2 and a half years. These are things every bi national married couple goes through in the UK so it's not unique to lesbian and gay couples. Long distance relationship are not easy, even when you've conquered the long distance relationship part and you're living together in the same country. The trouble is, one of you will always be long distance from your family and old friends. We have been making new friends though, and those friendships are really special to us. In this day in the life vlog, we went to visit Jasmin and Seb on their house boat. We took a bit of a break from vlogging as sorting out the visa that came with surviving the long distance relationship has been quite time consuming... We will be submitting the application soon, so please wish us luck! If you're a long distance couple, lesbian, gay, bi, straight, whatever... we really feel for you! Long distance relationships have so many different difficulties but we're so glad that we've been able to overcome them so far.
