In his first visit to Syria as UN High Commissioner for Refugees, Filippo Grandi appealed to all parties to the conflict to allow regular, unimpeded and sustained access for humanitarian organizations to besieged and hard to reach areas of Syria.
He also visited a Damascus clinic and a community centre providing protection services to some of the 6.5 million people displaced inside the country.
