Alligator found at Chew Valley Lake

A Bristol Water engineer has found a small alligator on the shores of Chew Valley lake in Somerset.

A spokesman could not confirm the species, but said a staff member "bumped into it" doing a routine survey.

It was captured by two Bristol Water staff who put it in a container ready to be collected by the RSPCA.
