    Jodi Enda is the assistant managing editor for special projects at CNN Politics. She is leading a new effort to bring deeply reported and elegantly written long-form stories and long-term projects to CNN's coverage of the 2016 presidential race.

    Enda is a nationally known journalist specializing in politics and policy. As a Washington correspondent for the Philadelphia Inquirer and the Knight Ridder newspaper chain, she covered the White House, Congress, presidential campaigns and national news. Her work has been featured in a number of national magazines, newspapers and digital publications. Early in her career, Enda covered local and state government and politics, education and public housing, and wrote for newspapers in St. Louis and Denver.

    Enda has won numerous awards for investigative reporting, deadline writing and White House and media coverage. Most recently, in 2013, she won the prestigious Mirror Award for in-depth/enterprise reporting on the media. She is a two-time winner of the Merriman Smith Memorial Award for White House coverage under deadline pressure. She previously received journalism awards from The Robert F. Kennedy Center for Justice and Human Rights, the Society of Professional Journalists and the Pennsylvania News Media Association.

    Enda is a former president of Journalism & Women Symposium and a former member of the White House Correspondents' Association Board of Directors. She is a graduate of the University of Illinois and a native of Peoria.
