On 8 August 2001 an official at the embassy of the Dominican Republic in Ottawa stated that the Dominican Republic has extradition agreements with Spain as of 4 May 1981, and France as of 7 March 2000. The agreement with France is in the process of being ratified.
The official added that bilateral extradition agreements between the Dominican Republic and Denmark, Finland, Germany, Italy, Norway, Sweden, and the United Kingdom are "under study" (ibid.).
